Livestock insurance covers death, humane destruction and theft of the animals your business depends on, along with the losses that follow disease outbreaks, transit accidents and market incidents. Premier Insurance has arranged rural and agricultural cover since 1983 and places herd, flock and named-animal risk with UK agricultural insurers and Lloyd's syndicates rather than squeezing it into a generic farm package.

Avoiding underinsurance

Livestock values have risen sharply and many farms still carry herd sums insured set several years ago, which exposes them to averaging at claim stage. Reviewing values annually and evidencing biosecurity, electrical inspection and stock records is the single biggest lever on a livestock premium.
